How is Earth Broadband helping the planet?
Madagascar has lost huge areas of forest and mangroves, putting wildlife and coastal communities at risk. Through our Madagascar reforestation projects, mangroves are being replanted to restore ecosystems, protect coastlines, and absorb carbon. Why are we planting Mangroves?
At Earth Broadband, we’ve chosen to focus on planting mangroves in Madagascar – trees that absorb up to four times more carbon than average while protecting coastlines from floods and storms. Mangroves also provide vital habitats for marine life, yet 21% were destroyed between 1990 and 2010 due to human activity and environmental pressures. By restoring them, we’re reducing carbon footprints, rebuilding ecosystems, and creating jobs for local communities. Read more
